Indeed.. watching a  new one expand and glow was  one of the highlights of my my early years, this was all before the mass ownership of tv's ;D

All this remind me of the time in 1979 when I found myself in a fully air conditioned luxury American Airstream trailer in the Saudi desert - 500 miles from anywhere at all!    sad24:

I read "Watership Down" there!   Not because I wanted to,  but it was the first (and only) bit of English prose I had come across in a long and very boring posting,  it turned out to be a half-decent book! - Or was I easily satisfied then?
