It's broken and she thinks that you can de-gub it.
She has an excess of microwaves and is donating the worst one to you.
She feels sorry for you.
She is heartily sick of feeding you and is pushing you out of the nest.

Any or all of the above might apply, you could of course ask her or is that too simple?
