Well that was a stonking race

The only spoiler I'll give is that the guy in the pit lane that got hit by a wheel has to quote the BBC " a broken shoulder and cracked ribs."

Could have been a whole lot nastier.

I read today that the FIA are now considering crash helmets for EVERYONE in the pit lane.
Unbelievable nonsense.
The wheel hit this poor guy in the back, so i don't see how a helmet would have saved his ribs and shoulder.

Crazy crazy crazy stuff.
Just make sure the lights stay on red until the car is safe to depart is the answer.

Yes it's better to not get hit than be protected against being hit

This is the same FIA that only fined Red Bull €30k for the incident.  Like that will make them change their processes.

Of course the FIA could reduce the number of high risk tyre changes by letting Pirelli supply a tyre that lasts.  I want to see overtaking on the track not in the pit lane.
Well, whatever, nevermind

More H&S utter shite.

Why don't thet just go the whole hog and have a man waving a red flag, wearing  a hard hat and neon flashing hv jacket slowly walking in front of the cars  in the pit lane? Banghead

How to fuck up a sport # 3268 courtesy of the FIA. ::)

Motor sport is dangerous, and that's one of the many reasons we love it and attend meetings in our tens of thousands every week werldwide.

Dunno

Still think they ought to do more to limit the risks of loose wheels but until they do having someone in the pit lane not easily able to see a hazard does seem a risk too far.

I've never thought that the risk to media or marshalls or other non competitors was part of the spectacle.  I'm very happy to just enjoy the risk to machinery and track position

Well, whatever, nevermind

Good to see you fluffyBear...  cloud9: The only thing they are bothered about is how much compo they will need to pay.. Usual story in the old days you took part or attended a dangerous sport you got injured that was bad luck... now it is just a cash cow.. evil:

It used to be grim.  F1 drivers decapitated on barbed wire fences intended to stop the public getting onto the track, spectators killed when they got through those fences.

I'd like a death free sport where it's reasonably possible and I really don't need those pit lane shots that much.
Well, whatever, nevermind

IMHO yes there were a lot more incidents but that for some of them what they got a kick out of... beating the odds... being the best.  Sportsmanship that is what it was ....Not like now too much munny in it as in a lot of sport...

I do love it but don't like the politics or greed...  noooo:

No one rates pole sitter Lewis then

Suggest if Boogs can't post otherwise (due to family issue) , her previous Germany prediction stands for Ungry as well

1. Alonso

2. Kimmi

3. Lewis

 . . .
Well, whatever, nevermind
