There seem to have been bomb blasts in America it is all over the news channels.  I had to search high and low for this link.  What is the matter with the BBC. 

It's a rhetorical question really.  I know what the problem is and it appals me.

It was on the BBC world news and text.  FWIW the Times on line edition is yet to report it at all  The national TV news serves their audience and very few are interested in a story that boils down to:

"yet another in the endless series of Iraq internal bombing, no Britons anywhere near and death toll less than in other incidents"

Boston is news because it occurred in a society convergent to ours at an event Britons were participating in.

. . . . and to a nation that, up until 9/11 was happy to fund terrorism (think IRA) having never been on the receiving end.

While Libya did fund the IRA, so did many Merkins - Boston in particular has a high proportion of its inhabitants descended from the bog trotters and regularly held whip rounds to send back the boys back home . . . .
