We need to tighten the rules...

If somebody gets a bonus death or Joker death they need to declare their number to be crossed off within (say) 24 hours otherwise they lose that right. This will ensure nobody can hold off declaring the number while seeing if others pop their clogs first  rubschin:

seconded but how about "within 24 hours of posting after"  Some still to take holidays
