Sadly I never got to meet Malcolm or the Pub Hound... he will be greatly missed by everybody...

Can I suggest that anybody that wants to contribute to flowers (if that is what he wanted?) can do so via the 'Donate' button...? I will collect and transfer to Nick...

What a sad day... the VP will never be the same again...  noooo:

Thanks. I have asked Alison if it is to be flowers or charity but I imagine the poor woman is still in shock. Will let you know when I hear from her.

How I laff about the day the Boy and I visited and the whole family ended up in A&E  redface:

No. I'm not in floods, but I'm still very sad to see the demise of the grizzly old goat.

As said elsewhere, I had a few 'rumblings' with him as I'm a bit of a narkey get (apparently  whistle:), but the waters had become significantly smoother in the recent past.

I did actually meet him and his family 4 years ago at the doghouse, and I must say I was well looked after, fed, watered and made most welcome.

I'll miss you you grumbly owld dog.

From playing in the kennel

The elder of my two boys is learning to play the cornet (the younger is learning the clarinet) ~ they are both members of a local marching Silver Band.
Minor has just been practising all his exercises and again this evening he has finished with one that the Band do not play as he has been asked if, next year, he will take over duties hitherto performed by a member of the British Legion at our village war memorial on Remembrance Day ~ The old boy says he cannot go on and there is no-one else so Minimus is determined to be perfect at playing it. He practises this every evening and it take me back so far ........ It often brings tears to my eyes as the 12 year old gives it his all. He is nearly there but he says "I have to be perfect to do it".
I know I shall weep buckets when he does it for real.
Many passers by pause outside our house when he plays it.
