Smart phone batteries
« on: May 05, 2013, 06:48:56 AM »
Of all the things that needs inventing a battery for smart phones that lasts longer than about 8 hours would be high on the list.

It's like pac man watching the battery life chomp itself down  when all you do is check the front screen.

Less Dim phones have to be charged way too often, bout every 8 hours of actual use for some.  You can get rechargeable power boosters for iPhones dirt cheap off eBay.  Mrs K carries one round all the time and mine is  . . . . . . well it must be somewhere . . .

. . . "where the  censored: is me spare battery?  Where did you put it when you tidied up?"  . . . . ."oh yes I pt it there  redface:"

Well, whatever, nevermind

I've installed DS (no, not him) Battery Saver and it works quite well. 24 hours no problem.

Which buggers up the battery life, Catch 22.

There are a couple of options, you can get generic high capacity batteries for the popular smartphones which give you more life but it's also worth going through the settings to lower your screen brightness and switch off anything that you aren't using (bluetooth being one of the larger drains). If your phone runs android getting Advanced Task Killer Free is also a good idea as programs sometimes seem to stay active once they have been updated.
The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.
