"Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Well, someone had to say it!

Would these names confuse American readers?
The main character's name is Song Ha-neul.
Her sister's name is Song Ha-eun.
Their father is Song In-Ho, their mother's name is Kim Li-Na.
In-Ho is originally from Shanghai, China, while Li-Na is originally from Tokyo, Japan. They live in North Korea.
Later, after they flee Korea, Ha-Neul has her name changed to Hu Chao-Xing and her father In-Ho changes his to Hu Fan. They return to Shanghai.
Ha-Eun changes hers to Yamada Miku, and their mother Li-Na changes hers to Yamada Hanako. They return to Tokyo.
Chao-Xing's best friends are Chen Tsai, from Taiwan, and Winona Catches, the school's lone American student who is a Lakota Sioux. She refers to Chen by his first name, Tsai.
Would these names and changes be confusing for an American audience, do you think? Do the names make sense?

Difficult issue with adolescent sexual development?
I have a friend who was very unfortunate in that she had a son who was born with deformed arms (he has two very short stubby stumps). She asked me since I worked in healthcare, but I am no expert on this.
He is now a young adolescent, and has begun to develop sexually. He is at the age that boys "take matters in their own hands" if you understand what I mean. She is concerned about helping him have a normal sexual development. He goes to school (with special accommodation) and she thinks he needs to autoexplore himself. What can she do? She has bathed him since childhood, so she is comfortable with that kind of close contact, but obviously doesn't think she should go farther in helping him touch himself. Any thoughts?
