..." No deposit, no return" was a marketing gimmick to get you to buy the bottle you didn't have to take back?  lol:

Now you have to recycle the blasted things (in the UK - Smug ClubTM excepted)...  noooo:

They'll be getting you to pack up your own excrement and send it back soon....  lol:

I remember as a kid we collected bottles and took them back and got 2d per bottle... We used to collect all the bottles that people chucked out the train windows at the side of the railway line....   ::)

We also used to sneak into the yard at the back of the café nick the bottles we had taken back and return them again for another 2d... redface:

They do a similar thing at festivals my granddaughter over the last couple of years at Leeds went round collecting the plastic glasses and made £80 last year... Did the same at V ....  :thumbsup:

Going off on a tangent (well this is what usually happens isn't it), our next door neighbour worked for
Corona in the days when they were delivered in wooden crates. He used to start saving broken crates for us round about the end of September beginning of October. Come Nov 5th we used to have a huge bonfire in the field behind the houses. Nothing tasted nicer than the jacket potatoes our mums roasted in that bonfire.

Memories, like the corners of your mind.
