Just had lunch with a laydee friend. She said that the students in the flat above can't be arsed to take their rubbish out, so they lower an umbrella on a piece of string to hook the lid open and then drop the rubbish into the open bin and then reel the brolly in
She had also heard that some students turn a toaster on its side so they can make beans on toast in it in one go
I pointed out that cars were invented for people too lazy to climb on a horse. See also: TV remote controls
So what other improvised lazy devices do we have here?
Mr B has a remote control in his room for plugs ..
Switches on/off lamps etc.
And what's wrong with that? We do the same.
My example that comes to mind is the remote-remote-remote-controlomatic
It's an IR receiver upstairs that encodes the remote control onto the coaxial feed which is decoded downstairs into another IR signal that points at another IR receiver that wirelessly connects to an IR transmitter that controls a freeview box hidden in a cupboard, an IR link to the main Sky box AND that illuminates another IR receiver that translates wrong Sky IR codes to correct Sky IR codes that go down a coaxial cable to the other Sky box (aka as MY Sky box)
And most days it works perfectly so we have full control of two Sky boxes, one Freeview receiver (and a TiVo) from downstairs and upstairs
To echo Nick's OP one of my teachers said I was the laziest in the class so I'd make a good engineer. Well he was right about one thing.
Anyway why does Mr B have his own room? Is it a naughty step room or his personal Minema where he shows interesting films
