Last night someone I know did a wedding where the whole family spent the whole night arguing .......even about who did the speeches in what order .....the whole event descended in to a glorified pissing contest....... noooo:
The bride spent half the night in tears......

Same for funerals  noooo:

When my stepdad died the funeral director forgot to take his signet ring off him.

His daughter and her partner found this out after the service and then were trying to establish how far into the 'burning process' they had got and was it retrievable.  Banghead

They had lots to remember him by but oh ffs how they kicked off. Her chap was a complete arse talking about the melting point of gold as opposed to flesh .

I was sooooooooooooooo livid. But remained dignified and walked away from the place and from them .  cussing:

No they fecking didn't. But they formally complained to the funeral director and got compensation  cussing:

Cos that would obviously help with their grief  Banghead

Weddings and funerals (plus to a slightly lesser degree in my opinion, christenings) occasions when you rub shoulders and then ego's with family and associates you've been avoiding for the past umpty umpt years ..

The family of the poor bride you mention should be ashamed of themselves but probably they aren't  noooo:

At lest with funerals, if its yours, you dont have to see the numpty's yourself  noooo: noooo:

I remember being about 13 or 14 (oh yes I can remember that far back....) and going back with the family to my Grandfathers small house after the burial............

Aunties and Uncles alike  redface: shame on them, ransacked the cupboards looking for hidden booty - which went down to the very low level of them finding gifts grandparents had been given, not even unwrapped, that they argued between themselves as to which 'loving' daughter/son had given it originally..............

So it's not a new bad trait by any means  cry:

Oh and then the entire hotel had a power cut and we were plunged into blackness and silence. had two computers running with hardrives, one crashed. It was certainly an eventful night.

Exactly. We did a big scouse wedding once where one of the guests punched his wife in the face. Nobody even blinked so Apey had to stop the staff getting involved. If the guests weren't going to bother, it wasn't our place to get involved.
