So it's a moot point now for Carroll but as I can see the expressed views:

- Uncle says a successful appeal means the calamity is struck off
- Apey says he backs Uncle's view
- I am happy to go with what the majority think
- No one else has a view

So I propose to modify the rules to so say calamities are subject to the appeal .  Please can Uncle as joint rules Czar confirm he agrees

Can the all new rawplugged Uncle please say

Especially as seems this red card is still not done and dusted

West Ham to seek legal action over Carroll red card
Well, whatever, nevermind

I saw that, this could run and run. It's interesting that Sam hasn't made any comments since the ruling.  rubschin:

If Carroll misses the next match then it's still a calamity even if later the ruling gets overturned. If however he gets to play then I'd say there's no calamity.

Have so amended the rules

SO - sending off (manager or player) however calamity will be removed if player appeal or other action means no matches are missed

I see Leeds could be wound up.  Major calamity looms?

Well with the all new rule amendment and today's news that the FA have decided to reconsider we have an all new Suspended Calamity for Uncle

"The Football Association will reconsider its decision to uphold a three-match ban for West Ham striker Andy Carroll on Friday.
The club had threatened legal action against the FA after their initial attempt to overturn the ban was rejected by an appeals panel.
But the Premier League strugglers say they will now abide by any decision made at the arbitration hearing."

Sorry Uncle but the FA's ability to know FA about what's what means it's a reinstated Calamity for the red card

"An independent tribunal has upheld the Football Association's decision to reject West Ham's appeal against Andy Carroll's three-match ban.
The Premier League side threatened legal action against the FA after their initial attempt to overturn the ban was turned down.
Carroll will now miss the Hammers' matches against Aston Villa, Norwich and Southampton."

Well if he's reading, it was a  Calamity last night for the Bear

"You can't make these things up sometimes. First Kolo Toure cost his side a point with a stray pass at West Brom, and now he's scored an own goal at Craven Cottage. "

Well in point terms the worstest/bestest weekend as Snoopy, Baldy, Boogs and now the Bear suffer Knockout Calamities

"Sunderland continued their cup success this season as a much-changed side saw off a poor Southampton team to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals."
"Manchester City exacted their revenge on a Chelsea side that has beaten them twice in the Premier League this season with a convincing win that puts them in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup."
"Sheffield United 3-1 Nottingham Forest They've done it! Nigel Clough celebrates as his side make their way to the last eight amid a roar from the stands"
"Arsenal 2-1 Liverpool Neither team really deserved to loose that game. Suarez and Sturridge are sitting on the turf, looking devastated "
