Maybe Tipsy is right.?

Spoke to a mate who owns the largest removal company here ,,,,,,,the majority of ex-pats leaving are not returning to UK ......but going to France...... rubschin:

Btw about 25 families a month.....

But I couldn't easily live there, would take years to really get into and be truly comfortable with their way of life.  Those ex pats I do know over there seem to live in an English set, speaking English and watching English TV and a good chunk of their conversation is about "how bad the UK is now".  Well it ain't!

SOME? the ex-pat community here makes me ashamed. I love the "real" Cyprus, I have not watched eastenders/corrie/emerdale etc for over 13 years and don't miss  it one bit. All the expats do is moooaaaanne, about how much they hate Uk and how much they reeeeaaly hate it here. can't please them.  noooo:

Many of the people here are retired and find nothing else to do but complain about something. I think wherever you go, the bored, British ex-pat will find whinging the only way to pass the time......I suggest fishing  :thumbsup:

As part of my family are French I think I am already comfortable with the culture.   Britain has become so rude and ignores old fashioned courtesy which I think shocks most of the French.   I once went with a friend to take their baby for a check up at the local surgery, in their holiday location, and they said good day to the 15 people in the waiting room and they all said it back.  All with eye contact and no mummbling.   That done private conversations resumed.
