So.... I want to buy a new camera.... yes, another new camera....  redface:

Anyhoo.... it is the Panasonic FZ330.

Well.... in the UK it is called the FZ330 and sells for £499 everywhere...

In the rest of the world it is called the FZ300 - and guess what...? It is significantly cheaper.....

So I just ordered one for £421 delivered instead of £499 plus delivery....

Okay, I have to cut the plug off the charger and fit a 3-pin but I've saved over eighty quid!  eeek:

You have to wonder why the UK is unique in having a different part number to everybody else...?  rubschin:

A guess is a big chunk of that is the cost of UK consumer protection regulations that you don't get if you buy the international part number

And why the  redface:?  You want a better camera, if you can afford it why not?

Well, whatever, nevermind

I posted this about the camera in the village forum, trying to be helpful like... ::)

The response was mixed as you can imagine but I liked this little dialogue...

Quote from: A. Numpty
Not sure about cutting the plug off , we did it with a razor and it never worked again , best to just use an adapter

Quote from: Barman
I think I am capable of fitting a plug thanks!  ;D

Quote from: A. Numpty
Just saying when we changed the plug it was said the charger was built into the plug , that's why it never worked again , cheers

Quote from: Barman
Okay... you cut off the power supply and fitted a mains plug? You could have killed yourself! facepalm:
