Yes it is my opinion. Maybe I've been exceptionally lucky but in over 50 years of travelling by train in the UK I've never had that experience and it seems the census people haven't either. Maybe I'm exceptionally lucky to have seen and see and met and meet far far more good than bad all round the UK.

On the whole it's a great but not perfect country. For those with no allegiance I'd say Oz is far better and clearly for some Cyprus is better. We all make our choices.

The assumption made by some of the Cypriot Brits that all foreigners are bad for the UK is extraordinary. Boadicea probably said the same thing.
In the world of Cool Hand Luke there is a concept of loyalty (which doesn't need to be jingoistic) to one's own country, and I would observe that it's common to most people worldwide.This is not a concept that appears popular with the English, and I wonder why. Oh, I nearly forgot: it's the fault of those low-life foreigners.
