I seem to be doing more and more.
The people who process and report on events seem to me to have lost all critical ability. they accept what is presented to them without question then regurgitate it as if it's absolute fact.
Two examples in the latest Beeb news: Savile and sugar consumption.
In both I just wanted someone, anyone to question the "facts" as presented. But no, so I end up shouting at the TV screen.
Why not shout at the news? Some of it is utterly enraging and inevitably much of it is presented in a condensed way that doesn't allow for every possible challenge. My particular anger point is drink driving news where they regularly misreport the facts. Smoking comes a close second.
I'd be rather more worried by someone who never ever shouted at it.
But to say the Beeb is the worst would get me shouting, they all do it and the likes of the Daily Mail deliberately use false headlines that clearly are disproved by the articles they adorn.
I'd say never ever use only one news source if you want to be informed.
