I posted in The Telegraph the other day....
Those calling for 'boots on the ground' wouldn't be quite so gung-ho if it were their feet (or those of their children) wearing the boots....
It appears that we are at war with a bunch of savages who ignore all of the conventions and rules of war. We should do the same...
If we are to fight them, let us exempt ourselves from the rules of war and use all of the technology that we have developed to defeat them... Cluster munitions, mines, fuel/air weapons, nerve gas, napalm and anything else that 'Q' has in his arsenal....
But let us not put the young men and women that I see on the British Bases every day on the ground - tied in knots by complex rules of engagement that favour the enemy, blown to bits by IEDs* and facing beheading on youtube if captured.
* why do we call them IEDs? they are mines pure and simple... is it because mines are banned under international conventions and we couldn't possibly imply that the ragheads would use banned weapons...?
