St Tony says we need boots back in the ground in Iraq
« on: September 22, 2014, 02:51:01 PM »
I can't believe that you have the gall to stand there and say that we need to send troops back into Iraq to clear up the mess that you are largely responsible for. Not only was it your decision in the first place to support Dubya in overthrowing Saddam but in your role as peace envoy to the middle east the sum total of your efforts can be summed up in 2 words - Fuck All!

Tell you what Tony, why don't you donate all of the money you made while poncing around pretending to be a peace envoy to Help for Heroes seeing as the legacy of your actions seems to be the imminent death and dismemberment of even more service men and women. If you had even a shred of honour or integrity then you would apologice over your contribution to this current crisis but we all know that will never happen will it.

I posted in The Telegraph the other day....

Those calling for 'boots on the ground' wouldn't be quite so gung-ho if it were their feet (or those of their children) wearing the boots....

It appears that we are at war with a bunch of savages who ignore all of the conventions and rules of war. We should do the same...

If we are to fight them, let us exempt ourselves from the rules of war and use all of the technology that we have developed to defeat them... Cluster munitions, mines, fuel/air weapons, nerve gas, napalm and anything else that 'Q' has in his arsenal....

But let us not put the young men and women that I see on the British Bases every day on the ground - tied in knots by complex rules of engagement that favour the enemy, blown to bits by IEDs* and facing beheading on youtube if captured.

* why do we call them IEDs? they are mines pure and simple... is it because mines are banned under international conventions and we couldn't possibly imply that the ragheads would use banned weapons...?

I can't believe that you have the gall to stand there and say that we need to send troops back into Iraq  . . .

Possibly because that's not what he said

The article the DM cherrypicks from is imho an interesting read with several points well made but Blair still cannot grasp the reality that no one wants to accept anything from him.  Having got the justification for invading Iraq so wrong and then never having apologised, he just has no credibility.  Indeed for Blair to suggest a course of action is quite possibly to guarantee it will never be endorsed by anyone with a reputation or electorate to consider.

He is a pariah.

Well, whatever, nevermind

the Prime Minister has recalled Parliament to meet on Friday. They will decide if the UK will join the alliance led by the USA which may include many other supporting countries, which will bomb IS terrorists on the ground in IRAQ, from the air. They have been invited to do this by the PM of IRAQ.
The Tornado aircraft are in position at Akrotiri.
