Ah the old "we will never get it back to the UK so we may as well drink it here" excuse. I know that one well.
Best one of those I had was after doing aid work in Romania when we decided to get souveniers and cut loose a little, they let us loose in the second largest city the day before we were due to head back and the exchange rates meant that everything was (from our perspective) incredibly cheap. The supermarket manager must have loved us, about twenty of us all 16 and raiding the booze section with £40-£50 each where a bottle of vodka cost the equivalent of 15p and a bottle of pink champange was 50p.
