Getting a man in...
« on: April 27, 2015, 03:21:46 PM »
Our fridge/freezer has been on the blink again.... the fridge is getting too cold and freezing everything... I looked it up on the interwebz and I'm sure I can fix it but just getting the parts is a nightmare here... I can buy them in the UK but the post is so slow at the moment (and another Bank Holiday this week) so it would take forever... Anyway, I called Mr. Shitas (honestly!) the local fridge 'expert' and explained the problem... I told him it was the temperature sensor... the bloody part only costs about 2p....

So, he arrived Friday, took it all apart and whacked the processor board but to no avail...

Said he would be back Saturday...

He came back today and changed the processor board but to no avail...

He discovered that the display went off when you pressed the 'Vacation' button and decided that was the problem... I explained that 'vacation' switched the fridge off but left the freezer running which was why the fridge display went blank.

He decided to change the temperature sensor!

He put the wrong one in so now the fridge temperature reads 21C while the actually temperature is (still) about 0.5...

He is coming back in 2 or 3 days with new parts...

Meanwhile, all the fridge stuff is in my beer fridge in the garage!  cussing:

It is Arabic for winter.

Appropriate for a fridge-mender I thought.
