It's very bizarre. I think it's something to do with perceived credibility; you know, a real name in the 'From' box. Although why they think that I'm going to believe an email from Tremble P. Acceleration I don't know confused:

Many years ago I was on a contract with a company in Seoul. Their sister company was called Lucky Goldstar which today goes under the simple title of LG. It reminded me of a Kurt Vonnegut character called Montana Wildhack; I thought my mentioning it fell on deaf ears but perhaps I was wrong  ;)

Some of us cats are given ridiculous names.

I believe Mr Eliot had some thoughts about this which were aired in his poetry and latterly reached a wider audience in the musical.

Marmite is my name, as far as others are concerned, but like all of us, cats and non cats alike, I imagine myself otherwise. How many of you boys have never looked at yourselves in a mirror before a night out, shot your cuffs, tipped your head back and said, "Bond, James Bond".?

Admit it.

Though I concede that "Figurehead, Executioner Figurehead" would not set the pulse racing in quite the same way.

I've had another email in this morning, this time from one...

Infested P. Simulation

Why do the names sound so dark and nasty? It it's random then there's an equal chance of something bright and fluffy, or, perhaps they're not random after all.

Perhaps there's an evil mind behind...
