What would be a good first car to purchase now?
I’d strongly recommend a purple Nissan Micra…  whistle:

I don't think Mr Wench would drive it. Something to do with cred?  point:
I've been Credtastic this week...  whistle:

The fact that you have used the "word" credtastic just goes to show how lacking in it you are.  noooo: Your poor daughter.  noooo:

Shouldn't drop that into conversation then?  noooo:

No absolutely you should!  point:

Look ~ I've never met the guy and know about him only what you have told us but do you really think Cred belongs in the same sentence as a Welsh School Teacher who is ruled, long range, by his Mam?

What would be a good first car to purchase now?

Depends what you're looking for really in terms of useability and street cred to a certain degree, and how much you want to spend more importantly?
Giz a clue, and I'll furnish you with a list and suitable web sites to look at.

Cred not important to be honest. Reliable, capable of doing Surrey to Wales a couple of times a month. Moneywise, well not top line but reasonable. There isn't a terribly strict budget.

IMHO Citroen ~ best deals on new vehicles at the moment. Large or small they are cheapish to buy and run.
I have a Picasso ~ 1600 engine, carries five of us and best of all returns a good MPG. Has a flat boot (No Lip to lift things over) with loads of space and seats collapse to carry longer loads.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

So what about the new car second hand car thing? Are new cars really worth the extra?

Don't buy a new car. I have always got mine from here

http://www.british-car-auctions.co.uk/bca-auctions/blackbushe-car-auction.htm
or latterly here, or simliar

http://www.fow.co.uk/2006/index.asp

Some muppet has bought them new, taken the depreciation hit and then passed them on. My last was a repossession.

Buy at a few months old with reasonable mileage and they are far cheaper and you still get the manufacturer's warranty. Growler will confirm!
