I stand corrected.  BUT... there was a French market 1.6. When I was in France the badge caused a lot of curiosity as they all said it was wrong.

The XM made Cardiff to Bayonne on ONE tankfull !!!  3 1/2 tanks to Alicante and back. (it had an auxilary tank) It was a wonderful motor.  Sorry to see it go.  sad24: There was nothing that wasn't fitted, it was my first experience of truly luxury level motoring.

The Picasso is great - except for one point.  The A/C controls are to the right of the dash, out of my reach when my other half is driving.  And she hasn't a clue how to set it so I freeze my butt off as we wobble down the road vainly fiddling with the buttons.  evil:



BTW.   I was surprised that nobody commented on the Leyland Marathon I slipped into the list.

My first Saab had all the heating and air conditioning system operated by compressed air. Gave a satisfying hiss when you changed the controls?

Nice old bloke over the road from me has got 2 circa 1940's Hillman Minxs' that he still meanders around in. He's got a dog of a similar age too! eeek:

No. 1 was nearest. (No. 2 is an Octopus insn't it?)  But it was a BRS special with a TL12 turbo intercooler lenthened chassis and all mod cons - Built specially for Middle East work with a double skin roof and aircon (and a 250 litre water tank), but they dropped the contract and flogged off the motors - It was a left-hooker too.  Because of the mods it made a standard rig a metre overlength, but nobody ever noticed...  ;)

Don't know, but I bougt mine second hand in 1983 for ?140!
