How did a country that adopted so much English stuff (drive on the left, the language, etc.) manage to develop such a wanky upside-down electrical plug socket arrangement...? Shrugs:

See also: Stralia....  noooo:
Because they could

Unique plug designs are a way of protecting local industry form imports.  The Oz/NZ one is fine per se just awkwardly different.  The USA one however is just plain stupid

Given that they run everything on 220V @ 50Hz then moulding a different plug on the cable is hardly an impenetrable barrier to competition...  noooo:

A quick check of the room reveals two Samsung tellyboxes, Philips DVD player and stereo,  hairdryer made in China, etc.  lol:
Ah but that plug design for them has been around for decades.  It was protectionist when they dreamt it up probably before you or I or even Samsung was a glint in anyone's eye

But once you've got a whole country wired like that you try changing it and getting re-elected
Well, whatever, nevermind

We've had free 90M/90M almost everywhere (hence all the pics)...

The place at Franz Josef had a dodgy wireless link to the town and LL's Sister's partner has fibre but is as tight as a duck's underwater parts so only pays for something like 10/10 but even restaurants and bars have super high speed...

I think we pay €50 for 50/4 at home...

NZ Day 34

Arrowtown to Dunedin

Beautiful crisp sunrise at Arrowtown and off to Dunedin stopping off at Cromwell and a few other historic places on the way…

Checked into hotel and then headed off to the beautiful Carey’s Bay Historic Hotel for dinner...

  great scenery again

That DILLIGAF bicycle creation brought back a few 'koff memories

And they're putting far too many growth additives into their apple and pear farming
Well, whatever, nevermind
