Back on topic - I think this is the right thread - I moved house a year last June and among all the things that were transited, there was a pen.

It was no ordinary pen.  It was a solid 22ct gold Parker with Corps Diplomatique engraved on it (Don't ask) and sentimentally priceless.

I thought I had better take great care with moving it as it could easily become lost and I distinctly remember holding it in my hand and thinking I need an extra special place to put this...

And - of course - I have never laid eyes on it since.   I have spent a year searching, I had the opportunity of throughly searching where it came from and have searched all boxes and containers minutely - where on earth could I have put it so safely?   confused:

Check your wardrobe .... it may well be in a jacket pocket. Alternatively try all of Mrs Bouncer's handbags.

If not, like Nick's Cover, ask "The Borrowers" if you can have it back. They may want a trade though.

Before we moved to Cyprus I packed all my tools up in three metal tool boxes. As all the goods were going to be in storage for a year before our house was finished I closed each box with a brand new Yale padlock and stored the keys away safely.

Twenty-two months later (the house was late) we unpacked everything but of course couldn?t find the padlock keys. We too searched ?everywhere? but couldn?t find the keys in any of the other boxes which we unpacked. Eventually a week or so later I had to give in, buy a bolt cutter and cut the locks off.

The very next bastard day we found the keys!    cussing:

Blimey, a thread that is more or less on topic?  eeek:

That, I believe is now called 'Nick's Law'.

I still forlornly check every pocket.  It's a sort of ritual now.  cry:

I have not disappeared - under the patio or otherwise!
I am truly landlady, not Barman - I am sensitive and caring like all females!
I have been very busy, am still very busy, it's all barmans fault for doing no sodding paperwork.
I will be back soon but probably not until after the Uk visit - leave here this Sunday 16th Sept , back aagin 1st Oct.
Then I pack Barman off to the UK 5th to 15th Oct  whistle:
