As expected, they've just replaced the paving slabs with gravel - They obviously couldn't find anybody brave enough to drive a roller over it!  lol:

Meanwhile...

And some more...

With logic like this I'm surprised that the authorities haven't requisitioned a couple of barrels of your home brew to detonate and push the ground back together again..  noooo:

Just walked down to the village (to get a dog licence - clearly not something they issue every day ::))...

They removed the paving stones and put the gravel down what, a week ago...? Surely there would be no noticeable movement yet...?

Oh dear...  noooo:

And as for the buckled concrete road with the traffic cone on it...?

Simply dig it all up and replace it with a stronger road surface gravel... ::)

They are replacing power cables in the village today - the movement of the land is pulling the old poles over...  noooo:

It is a constant process now of repairing the roads, power cables, water main, telephone cables...

And people are obviously not moving in...

It's funny but not a great advert for how Cyprus copes with real problems.  Have to feel sorry for those stuck in that part of your village.  I guess the earth moves for everyone everyday jokes have worn thin

I like to point out that their properties move closer to the sea every day - so not all bad news!

You couldn't make it up... facepalm:

They dug up all the paving slabs a few weeks ago and replaced with gravel... But the road is moving so quickly that large gaps and cracks soon opened up in the gravel. The solution? Fill the gaps and cracks with more gravel and cover the lot with more mastic...

Come closer, there's more...

Just a couple of weeks after a major 'repair' they are repairing it again... lunacy or job creation...?  rubschin:
