More stuff arriving today but no drilling yet...

Plus they have painted red crosses on the roads and appear to be surveying them with a drone...  Thumbs:

...and the land movement means almost daily water leaks... ::)

They've started drilling!  Thumbs:

The pictures of the JCB and the men clinging to the roof installing solar panels are merely to demonstrate the level of Elfin Safety that can be expected in the drilling process...  ;D

I'm not sure how deep they have to go to get to solid ground, I guess it varies across the landslip...?

I'll take some video when they really get stuck in so we can see how deep they go. They have two drills that are going to start at either end of the slip and meet in the middle as far as I can gather...

The village rumour is 40 feet...  rubschin:

Lot of cement needed to fill that up...  whistle:

Doesn't sound much if the problem is horizontal slippage.  They were about 10 feet for the piles we had for our extension but that's a vertical load through the piles, BIG difference when the land is trying to move.

Well, whatever, nevermind

When they did our last extension they concluded it had to be piled as they couldn't get concrete round the house for normal foundations.  So 2 days of piling and what did they say?  'Now it's ready for your builder to get the concrete round to fill them'   evil:   It got sorted
Well, whatever, nevermind

They've gated off the two drilling areas for some reason...  rubschin: I've taken some long distance shots and will go back tomoz. when they are (I presume) not working...
