Is it just me that keeps expecting to see a pic of one of those expensive rigs disappearing into a hole?
Well, whatever, nevermind

Some official pictures from the site today - they are encasing the tops of the piles in a reinforced concrete wall...

Now I'm no structural engineer but I have this feeling all that'll do is delay the movement until enough force builds up for one almighty event.
Well, whatever, nevermind

I think the idea is that the land on the left of the wall (in the top picture) is already haaawwwaaaaayyyy and heading down hil - it is land that has 99% of the damage that I've taken pictures of...

So the wall is Phase #1 which is to stop the land on the right of the wall following its mate...

Phase #2 is supposedly to stop the land that is already on the move... Involves draining, more piling, etc. If that happens or if they just write it off as a bad loss is another matter... Shrugs:
