I switched leccy and gas supplier in Feb and cancelled my direct debit. The old supplier sent me a bill  for £8.62 which I paid and that was the last I heard of them.

I have just had a call from a debt collection agency saying that I owe the old supplier £466 !  eeek:

I am about to call the old supplier but am waiting for my bladder temperature  to drop before doing so  evil:
Let them 'harass' you some more then complain to the Ombudsman.
I did that with the waterboard and 'Harassing a pensioner' got them to pay a £250 apology.
Enough for a half decent bottle of single malt.

 Thumbs:

A lot of compensation for water boarding ........ rubschin:

Complaint submitted along with the strong suggestion that this is an attempt to scam a poor confused old pensioner during the lockdown  eveilgrin: eveilgrin:

So it seems that my leccy and gas supplier failed to close my account in Feb when I switched away and have been trying to take money out of my account since then, unsuccessfully!

So pleased I found the private e mail address of their CEO on the interweb  eveilgrin: eveilgrin:

Doesn't your new supplier have to liaise with the old to confirm handover meter readings etc ?

They did this. I am not prepared to pay two different companies for the same leccy and gas!

You must be very distressed by their error and deserve compensation.
