Latest expressions I detest
« on: January 17, 2020, 09:54:56 AM »
This individual is an 'influencer'

So whoever this dumbwit is they have a few friends on their social media and expect that their posts ( or themselves) are so beautiful or meaningful that other lobotomised zombies want to be them, or have what they have.

This self obsessed world they inhabit is infuriating.

I need a Harry Potter spell that will turn all selfie sticks into flogging devices that cannot be removed from the muppets hands.

I feckin hate this expression  Banghead

What's actually the most sad

- that these people exist that apparently do significantly influence others just by their web postings

- that they get this exalted status

- that Nick believes they are all air headed blondes

I know one in real life, HE's married to one of my nieces.  He gets a decent living and all sorts of free stuff sent to him because apparently people just love his reviews of games etc on his YouTube channel
Well, whatever, nevermind

You need some more creative thinking.

Does he have a real job as well?

The Youtube channels that have been successful enough to turn it into a full time career have already worked considerably more hours per week on this than they would have in a regular full time job. Between the schizophrenic rules and regulations that Youtube seems to pull out of its arse (made worse now because they have decided to start making them retroactive) having a massive effect on ad revenue for channels, cancel culture making things even worse (the annual adpocalypse happens because some special npc snowflake can't handle hearing something they don't like without flying off the handle and calls in the rest of their ilk to complain en mass. The most infamous one was Carlos Maza vs Steven Crowder where Maza's horde managed to get him kicked off the partner scheme despite Youtube stating categorically he hadn't broken any rules), finding new sources of revenue to increase their income or compensate for lost advertising and then once all that's out of the way you can finally start researching the information you need to put together the video on whatever subject you want to talk about this time.

The NPC's are starting to hit there now so it's only a matter of time before Patreon bends the knee.  Banghead

'NPC'  an expression I detest

Has become a pejorative used by people who either don't understand third party harm or worse want to cause third party harm

YouTube has become infested with plausible at first look fake news stations, just like Arsebook got infested with fake news stories.  And then real people were murdered
