Seeing as most Corona deaths are older people many with underlying conditions if I was a student I wouldn't be to worried about getting it. As n elderly person with underlying conditions I just keep well away from everyone, Simples really.

Bravo Uncle, it is very simple...  Thumbs:

Just watched this, it is excellent...

Surely the problem is the students are the interconnect between households but because most of them live with parents they then take it back to them who then infect grandparents etc

The 'heat charts' certainly seem to back that

Well, whatever, nevermind

Wouldn't really work here as in their infinite wisdom the council decided to create loads of retirement housing while also going hell for leather to develop the university so they can increase student numbers and even before all this kicked off there weren't the resources to keep both groups seperate.

They could do that... or not. It would be a free choice wouldn't it?

Better than grandparents unable to see their children I'd have thought...

rubschin:  we have to accept that we have many multigenerational households and most children and students live with their parents when not in school/Uni

The measures put in place for schools to stop household interconnection have been questionable but the whole letting 18 year olds go to Uni without thinking it through has been just more bollocks by this gubberment

And don't get me on way too many police just watching on as crowds of people misbehave in pubs 'because we haven't got the resources' .  Well Plod you never will if you just smile at law breaking because such just encourages more law breaking.

Exactly what has he done wrong? (Apart from listening to SAGE) The fucked up economy and hardships are due to the lockdown, something you seem to endorse. Better to have carried on fairly normally, advising those at risk to try and and avoid contact. It would have kept the economy going and avoided the unbelievable debt that we've incurred.

How long you got?

- did nothing when told last year a pandemic was a top risk to the nation
- did nothing for weeks when told Covid was an international emergency requiring urgent action by the UK
- delayed lockdown so Carrie could have her baby shower
- sent infected people into care homes while diverting PPE away from them
- denied NHS treatment to infected people in care homes
- falsified no not resuscitate orders for people in care homes
- lied over and over about 'world beating' Apps and test and trace
- endorsed breaking of lockdown rules as long as it's by his friends
- blamed NHS workers for shortages of PPE
- ordered schools back without investing in needed extra resources to minimise bubble sizes
- ignored science advice on urgent action

Will that do?

Well, whatever, nevermind

I'm sorry Steve but you appear to have dual standards here. You castigate Johnson for following flawed advice and putting the infected into nursing homes but when I have had a go at Cuomo and other governors for doing the exact same thing you said it was because of Trump and the CDC, ignoring the fact that the separation of powers described 10th amendment means that the decision would have been theirs alone.

Not really; throw enough unsubstantiated mud and some will stick.

You'll have to link to Cuomo as the search engine won't work

Jonson/Hancock didn't follow flawed advice on care homes, they acted in panic against it.  We know this as Hancock has sought to explain it by saying 'no one knew about asymptomatic transmission' but unluckily for him SAGE then released their own reports that very much showed otherwise
Well, whatever, nevermind
