We had a meeting with the police today because of course there is no definition to substantial   so in terms of enforcement  surrender:

They were quoting some legislation from 1965  - that stated a sandwich and pickles qualified as a main meal  noooo:

So at the moment we have one pub offering 'bottomless pizza' and another pub just giving customers a dirty plate and cutlery when they order a meal and you prove they haven't eaten from it  ( no receipt as contactless payments etc ) ) and we haven't even reached 1pm on the 1st day  surrender: surrender: surrender:

I just watched this... To summarise the enforcement people tricked the manager into giving them a pint then closed the pub...  evil:

You realise that it's only a matter of time before some enterprising brewery or  landlord renames one of their beers 'a substantial meal' to get around the rule.  noooo:

Scotch Eggs futures went through the roof earlier this week after gormless Gove put his foot in  ::)

As for Farage's video the pub sold a pint when they shouldn't, even he isn't disputing that.  It's more obvious than an obvious thing that the test visit was likely because the pub had a reputation for same.  And test visits like that are like when they use 15 year olds to try to buy knives and fags.

Don't want your pub temporarily closed, stick to the rules. And interesting that Farage didn't mention that same pub is open again today https://www.thewatermansbarnes.co.uk/
Well, whatever, nevermind

This is not a good week to be called Mike and be known to me.  My uncle Mike Monday and now the phone rings to tell us Mike we knew from the pub and were on Christmas card terms with, died of Covid yesterday.

Lockdown 2.0 may have stopped the then looming explosion in numbers but it's still real people that are dying at ~ 450 a day in the UK. The new tiers scheme may have been a kluge with shit detail but we have to hope it works as most of us are not getting that vaccine anytime soon

Well, whatever, nevermind

FFS Steve! ::)

In the video he says it was closed for a week and he actually walked into the pub...  noooo:

It was clearly entrapment and completely unnecessary... Do these fuckers have nothing better to do...?  evil:

Locked.
