Northern Rock is in no real danger, but questions should be asked about why the management let it get to this stage - they were far to reliant on mortgage business and their primary funding is via Securitisation of the mortgage debts. It's a cheap, but as can now be seen, uncertain and volatile a raising cheap mortgage funds.
Our company used to do it before we were taken over - so we no longer need worry about these swings in financial confidence.
