Le Mans 24 hours just not as we know it

They've done a brilliant job with this virtual 24 hours race .  Even got Alonso, Verstappen etc to be drivers and the graphics are amazingly good

If you fancy having a crack at it yourself the game they are using for this is available on Steam and you can buy the Le Mans add on for it.

Depends on how much you want to spend on it really, you can go from around £30:

To megabucks:

To be honest compared to HOTAS controller sets the price range is a hell of a lot more reasonable, I'm really not looking forward to the day I have to replace mine because I can't fix it anymore.  noooo:

So serious rigs are more.  Some of them having moving seats to give them the feel for the bumps etc
Well, whatever, nevermind

I doubt I'll ever go, my brother kept trying to get me to go but 4 nights in a tent wasn't my idea of fun and he ain't going to be going anymore  cry:  But who knows, if there's a decent big makes rivalry again like the Ferrari v Ford years I'd be up for it but nowadays it's Toyota v Toyota and even they are thinking of pulling out.  Too many stupid rule changes over the years

Did visit the place once, decent museum and cos it's mainly public roads it's one of the world famous tracks I've driven
Well, whatever, nevermind

You can get a basic seat rig, not including the motion unit or controller set for around £150 but if you want to go all the way the motion unit alone can cost a couple of grand:

To be honest you don't really need the high end stuff once you are immersed. I spent a decent amount of time on the Sea King simulator at RNAS Culdrose when I was a kid and even with the hydraulics off and the basic graphics at the time I saw plenty of occasions where someone else would be stood in the back of the cockpit and would fall over after 5-10 minutes thinking that the horizon was real and override their sense of balance.

I was given a copy of F1 2015 a while back and it sounds like you did far less damage than I did. First race, first turn, perfectly lined up on the racing line and I managed to pull a virtual Nick and wiped out all but 2 of the other racers.  redface:
