A baffling request
« on: December 05, 2020, 01:31:17 PM »
I arrived home to find an e mail (Dear Nick.......) from my utterly toxic niece.

She wants my address so that she can post a form to me which I can fill in to give my permission to HER GP to access MY medical records.

WTF is that about??

I have asked her to give me reasons

Off the top of my head I can only come up with 2 reasons why she would want her GP to have access to your records. Firstly there may be indications that your sister could have a hereditary condition but they need more information to establish if it is the case and how prevalent it is in the family.  I vaguely recall seeing something like that happen back when I was a student nurse but that was 20 odd years ago I may be remembering incorrectly. The second reason I can think of could be for something along the lines of the 2005 Mental Capacity Act but while I unfortunately know people who are toxic enough to consider trying to pull something like that on a family member without good cause I don't see how it would work in this case.
The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.

Turns ous that, thinking about Number One as usual (she is still in Twatt leaving her husband and three kids in London!), she was getting some cancer check ups. Her dad and all his 8 siblings died of cancer. The quack asked about the other side of the family. I am the only one with cancer. She can feck off.

I pointed out that cancer is quite rare on my side of the family (it is) but that strokes and dementia are common (this is true). This has nothing to do, of course, with her denial of my sister's Alzheimer's  angel1
