Have discovered I can trick the key into working by pressing the lock button first and then then unlock 

Have you tried pressing the Lock button when you walk away from the car and pressing the Unlock button when you return to it?

Drew a blank at Timpson's this time, so decided to soldier on with the dodgy key fob.

It failed earlier and I was left sitting in a hunk of non moving metal.

Had already had quotes for £200+ but I was on the 6th floor of a car park and needed to get home.

Called the £200+ folks who were useless (Out of Stock)

Googled and found someone else. He said he would come out and make me a new key but had to travel from Derby and could be an hour or more. Cost would be £120 

Very nice Rastafarian guy turned up and did the job in no time. I braced myself for the inevitable, "Yes the key is £120 but my call out charge is umpteen gazillion...."

Nope. £120 it was 

But cash only. I had no cash. He followed me to a garage with a cash point. I gave him £130.

Took key in for a, new battery last week and it hasn't worked properly since. Couldn't lock car! Quote for new, key card £210

Took her in for a service today and mentioned key problem. The garage Che med the key and found the muppet at Timpson had used a pice of Blu Tak to hold the battery in place!
