I have just rung the hospital as obviously when trying to speak to The Man it is difficult as he is drugged up , nauseous and not with it at all - and therefore my numerous questions are unable to be answered.
Get through to the ward and some bloke comes on and says the doctor is with him now - but he has been vomiting all over the place this morning and they have had to clean it up .
So sorry for the inconvenience like

So start to ask if they could explain in more detail what the issues are -
" yes - his bowel is not working "
Ok , keep calm ... start to ask how common this is and what will be done to alleviate this situation
" Oh the doctor is with him now , he is putting tube up his nose and into stomach "
Ok , keep clam .... ask if that is to help provide food / fluids or to remove blockage
"Oh the doctor is with him now "
Ok , keep calm ask when would be the best time to speak to someone ( else)
" Oh you can ring (The Man) you know he has a mobile phone"
Ok, keep calm ...explain I know he has a mobile phone but due to the fact he is drugged , vomitting and tubed up it is often not easy to speak to him"
"yes , ring him ( The Man ) about half past two . He really did vomit a lot this morning !!! "
Thank you, goodbye
