I live in a big old Victorian house split into 5 flats

Lass in the top flat e mails us all to say her boyfriend has tested positive for Covid and is poorly sick in bed. She warned that the bluetooth part of the App would doubtless signal us through the walls and ceilings.

It did. All the others are youngish and work from home and have only had one jab. They have been ordered to isolate for 10 days. Now I have. ::)

I am not

Order online ....... whistle:

Can we have some advanced warning first so we know which store chain to buy shares in...  whistle:

Is she OK?

She is fine but the system is an utter shambles...  noooo:

She had a PCR test on the 15th which was negative and she flew out on the 17th.

She had a Day #2 PCR test on th18th which came back positive. I decided to self-isolate as a result.

We'd paid for a Day #5 (early release) PCR test which she took on the 21st which was negative.

Then she had the Day #8 PCR test on the 24th which took 3 days to get to the lab and came back Indeterminate.

So she contacted the lab and they said a Lateral Flow Test would confirm one way or the other. She took one on the same day which was negative.

The lab then decided she should have another PCR test which was sent out taken and returned (at their expense to be fair). However, the system can't cope with anything beyond Day #2, #5 & #8 tests so she hasn't been able to obtain the result...

Meanwhile the Track and Trace people called on day #3 I think it was but she was just finishing her meal so they said they'd call back in five minutes and "she should expect to spend 30 minutes on the call". She hasn't herd from them since...

So the testing has cost us €50 here, £200 for the tests in the UK (plus the LF, not sure what that cost) and has been an utter farce TBH...

The Brat got pinged yesterday to self isolate ...the last time she had contact with the individual who has tested positive was over 8 days ago  noooo:

She has no symptoms and is due for her 2nd jab shortly. She went for a walk in test anyway that thankfully was negative.. She has deleted the app as she has several festivals coming up  lol:

I had a text the other day saying I had been to a location that had cases of covid and I should test myself. Apparently simply walking past Iceland on the way to work is enough to send their system into meltdown  noooo:

UK Test and Trace has been a fiasco ever since Boris decided it had to be headed up by the nearest Tory and Dido (failed at) Talk Talk Harding was it
