Tonight/s bride booked loads ..Dj .singer ..sax player ..floor fireworks .fairy lights etc..


Now each was booked separartely by this planner (hippy thinking etc)..sharing  etc....

BUT this is stupid ..my competitor who provided fireworks and love lights ..has all of the above ....and could have/would do a package deal ...thus saving either the Hotel (her employer) or passed on to bride ...

On a Dj fb site a Dj suggested we all plant a tree for each wedding we do ..for the environment and the couple …..does anyone know where I can get huge bags of popcorn ….

So at an hotel I have worked at since we started Djing....we have been though 5 different wedding planners and 2 general managers ....Last night the current  planner was chatting to me ...now she is a nice enough woman BUT think Sue Pollard ..when she started was told not to dress like a "hippy"...eventually they made her wear a uniform ...(this is a 5 star hotel .!! )...she then proceeded to have half her head shaved ...   then coloured ...   she wears baseball boots still ... (she is late 50s)..

So last night we were chatting about how long I had worked there ...etc...she then tells me how this year she is "sharing" the Dj work between a few of us ... like it is a good thing ..!!!..she then lists another 4 Djs ..one works for me ..!!!!(can be booked tho me )...the other has been banned from that hotel for years ..(she belives in second chances  ) ...the other one hardly speaks English and is known to be scruffier than her ..!!!!...

BUT she is telling me like it is a good thing ..

I had to bite my tongue not to say .."you are basically giving MY money to someone else ..WHY the f88k are you telling me ..?/ " .....

And when they book they insist on ME (not one of my Djs) ..not no more ..

I think sometimes the world is passing me by and I dont understand things anymore  ....it is the ALL get a medal culture at work ...

She did it again …gave a booking to another Dj I sent her … . Coz he doesn’t get enough work of his own …

Well he is gonna get a shit load less now if he excepts the work ..not only by me but by all the other companies who employ him ..!.Coz I will tell them ..!..!..

Is strange .because it is run well(hotel) ..slightly old school but works well ..I think the problem is ..no one really complains ..?..?..because it is a wedding  they don’t generally has a comparison to how they should run ..?

Well ,went to collect cheque from her today …as we are chatting ..she announces ..she is giving us a pay rise next year ….


Now I welcome this ..happy etc …but this is not her money …surely her job for the hotel is to get the best deal for them and their customers …??..?…
