No,

The bloody tiles were too big for the gap ? I forced them in but it didn?t look quite right.

I didn?t want to file them down or anything and decided that ?a blind man would be pleased to see it? if not somewhat surprised.

Eventually I decided I couldn?t leave it as it was so I pulled them up again.

Then, I spent an hour grinding down the edge of the tile using a metal cutting wheel on an angle grinder. Made a lot of noise and smell but only removed a fag paper?s thickness of tile.

Eventually gave in, went to the village DIY shop, spent a Pound on a stone disc and finished the job in five minutes.

Why oh why didn?t I do that five hours ago?  shrugs:
