The Missile Base consists of 57 acres of real estate.  The center secured portion of the property is protected by the original barbed-wire-topped chainlink fence.  There is a paved road leading into the property with dual entry gates.

Above ground is the original 40 X 100 shop building, two concrete targeting structures, two manufactured homes, two 8 X 8 X 40 storage containers, and the silo tops of the three missile silos, two antenna silos, one entry portal and a few other misc structures.

Below ground is a huge complex consisting of 16 buildings and thousands of feet of connecting tunnels.  The major underground structures are:

Three - 160' Tall Missile Silos
Three - 4 story Equipment Terminal Buildings
Three - Fuel Terminal Buildings
Two - 6 story Antenna Silos
One Air Intake/Filtration Building
One 100' diameter Control Dome Building
One 125' diameter Power Dome Building
One - 6 story Entry Portal Building
and a few other misc buildings and areas.

Somewhere in Washington state according to the BBC. You've gotta love the line about the previous owners using it as a summer camp for their kids. Gives Camp X-Ray a whole new meaning  drumroll:

Quote
It is the ideal home for an aspiring James Bond villain, or an anxious survivalist seeking a refuge that can withstand an atomic bomb.
A former US intercontinental ballistic missile base - with a network of underground tunnels and silos, but no nuclear warheads - is on sale on eBay for $1.5m (?750,000, 1.06m euros).

Located in a remote corner of Washington state and still ringed by its original barbed-wire-topped fence, the 56-acre site is being marketed as a "gorgeous" property and potential resort.

Bari Hotchkiss bought the former base 10 years ago from owners who obtained the property in the 1970s, after the US government deemed obsolete the Titan missiles it was built to launch.

"We used to use it as a summer camp, for our kids and their friends," he told news agency AFP.

"The only limit is imagination. We've always wanted to see it turn into a summer camp or resort camp," he said.

20th Century castles

Mr Hotchkiss says there are 18 former Titan bases, most of which were sold off.

But his base, he says, is one of the best preserved.

"Most of those former bases are much much smaller, and most all of them have water problems with water leaking in them. So they're filled with water or so wet there is terrible rust, and ours is dry. Portions of our missile base look like it's built last year," he said.

Much of the Cold War era technology was stripped from the site by the military, and to make much of the underground network useable would require several million dollars.

"If you only need one or a couple of the buildings to begin with, several hundred thousand dollars might do it," Mr Hotchkiss told AFP.

A number of other former US missile bases are also on the market.

The website missilebases.com describes the buildings as "castles of the 20th century".

Designed to withstand nuclear attack, these unique properties "bring new meaning to the word 'shelter'," it says.

Subterra is a 34 acre estate surrounded by pastoral Kansas hills located 25 miles west of Topeka. The site holds a powerful and ominous past now transformed to an uplifting vision of our potential future. Once, an Atlas E intercontinental ballistic missile with a 4 megaton warhead was housed in the protective underground cavern. Now the missile is gone and the launch control structure is converted into spacious living space with an eclectic spirit of peace.
The historic site has been featured on many domestic and foreign television shows, and many groups have booked tours of the property. Subterra is a cold war relic that punctuates the reality of humanity?s challenges since splitting the atom and the necessity of changing attitudes to manage this new level of our power.

Subterra is now the home of Edward and Dianna Peden who reclaimed the property from ruin and have lived underground since 1994. The quiet, peaceful environment offers many features that many find uplifting, and fun. Tours and special events are scheduled to promote a variety of educational and transformational opportunities.

We of Subterra hold a vision of a healthy, healing, community environment,  nurturing Body, Mind, and Spirit.  Relying on Spirit, we invite eclectic and esoteric learning experiences that create sustainable lifestyle models and project a transformational vision of peace to the world.

I have to admit, I like the irony
