I see the UN are going to hold an emergency meeting at 9pm our time. They will probably come up with more sanctions, which, lets be honest, is the last thing the Burmese need. I reckon China need lying on, either that or send someone in..

What about the monks from the Shaolin Wheel of Life show. Would be interesting to say the least to see what happens when the riot police happily breaking the heads of the local monks with their truncheons suddenly find that the truncheon breaks over the head of some of them without doing any visible damage before they return the favour.

Talking about authoritarians, I have just emerged from a tour around the US Holocaust Museum PHEW! (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7011371.stm) and whilst being stupefied by the photos there, I couldn't help but notice that it was all very well organised.

The Auschwitz camp was, amongst others, strictly supervised by a regulatory body to ensure the welfare of the internees.  SS-Standartenf?hrer Dr. Enno Lolling, the director of the Office for Sanitation and Hygiene in the Inspectorate of Concentration Camps. was responsible.   A sort of early-day Health & Safety Directorate.  And just as efficient.

I confess, I had not realised just how far down the Socialist path we have travelled in Britain.

I think I can see a plan emerging...    rubschin:

Just think, had Germany not been at war with us at the time, it would have just been another internal matter that'll soon blow over.  Nothing to interest us.
