That really is quite disgusting. I don't do inards. I have to ask the fishmonger to gut them for me. The one time I tried to do it myself I was physically in the sink over them.
I fish ~ often for trout. Mrs S makes me gut them and insists on my removing the heads as well before they go in the freezer. Personally I'm not that fond of trout so don't often eat them.
Planning on making a smoker this winter ready for next season's catch. Now smoked trout I do like.
