If I meet her, or indeed them, again I'll engage them in conversation. See if they play the part as well.

I once did an historical walk through Winchester and had conversations with Alfred The Great about cakes and Jane Austen about her latest novel. Very bizarre.

Now Winchester is a place I have always loved ~ but I would avoid meeting King Alfred etc.

The King Alfred on that summer's evening bore an alarming resemblance to Berek's usual avatar. Best to avoid.

I confess the last time I was in Winchester I was horrified at the changes wrought in the name of "Progress".
Like so many other haunts of bygone days I doubt that I shall return. "Going back" is not something I do much of anymore. Too many disappointments.
