I fear you are right BM

But since Wenchy is here perhaps she can tell me that when The BBC say it is going to rain (and when isn't it going to rain in Wales?) does Mrs S put washing on the line and when it rains is it my fault that she didn't see it was raining in time to get the washing back in before it gets soaked? AND What does it matter? It was wet anyway! evil:

All your fault, including weather, astrology, whitebait, other people's illnesses (catching - you are immune) etc.

Right! All so terribly wrong. If you ever came up with a sensible suggestion then of course we would listen to you but your ideas are always pants. And you have to have an opinon because otherwise you just accuse us of running rough shod over everything. And when it comes to it none of you really care anyway!!

PMT + hangover = bad Wenchy noooo:

Funny you should say that ~ I have been considering going on one of those "Retreat" thingies ~ y'know, like in a monastery..... don't fancy all the praying stuff but just a few days of no arguments, no kids, total peace and quiet. I wonder if there is such a place and at what cost. Solitude is what I am after, with food and bed provided.

Don't you have to indulge in chanting or colonic irrigation?

5 days in a Travel Lodge in somewhere like Barrow might do the trick

I was sent went on one of those when i was a teenager  eeek: I think it was a day or a weekend.
What an utterly ridiculous thing to do to a teenager... as you can imagine.

Well if I must but it would interupt the peace and solitude I am seeking.

Mrs Nick got dragged off on one of those by some barking Catholic convert friend. 6 women and a priest. His first rule was that they were forbidden to speak all weekend eeek:. He exempted himself from this rule and spent the weekend hectoring them. She actually stayed  noooo: but came home murderous!

That's what I mean ~ bloody priests get involved and ruin the peace. I am not looking for "spiritual uplift" just a rest.

Some Oxbriege colleges rent out rooms in teh hols. Others have rooms you can rent if you claim to be doing some research in a library there.

I had a week in Oxford on this basis in the 1980s and very nice it was too!
