Not being really very fond of foul weather I tend to avoid mountains.
But, in this era of mollycoddling and insulation from danger and access to instant help 24/7 most people seem to be completely unaware that the weather is going to be, in any way, different at the top of a mountain than it is at the bottom.
One bloke actually said he expected it to be fine because "I live in a 20th floor flat and it's always fine up there." No. the windows didn't open
Seems to me that these idiots should be required to check a walk plan in before going up and if they fail to pass muster on dress and equipment, then go home or sign a form certifying that you are on your own when you get into trouble.
And, of course a next of kin contact.
