What is the point of these things? There is council operative outside using one to blow leaves off the pavement and into the gutter. (A brush would do the same job) . As he moves along the road the breeze blows the leaves, er, back onto the pavement.

Now a leaf vacuum sucker would be a reasonable idea, but a blower?

NO

Apparently, according to the gardener, they cause fewer back injuries through strain. You blow all the leaves into a pile and then scoop them up.

So, they're swapping back injuries for permanent hearing loss. I see. Mmmmm m m m
"Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Well, someone had to say it!

I have a Black and Decker electric garden vac and it's five times the weight of a broom, and causes me just as much back-ache, if not more. It is however much quicker than using a broom, I suspect they work out cheaper for local councils than employing two more skivvies with a broom.

If the effing council wants to blow leaves hither and thither they can wait for the wind. I live on the West Coast FFS!¬
