Look piss-takers!  cussing:

This has nothing whatsoever to do with Operation Fireplace which is wonderful and has earned me loads of Brownie Points…  cloud9:

We have a 50KW gas boiler for the central heating… smoke was coming out of the back and The Man pointed out that the chimney is all wrong – it just juts through the wall and should go through the wall at a 45º angle and then up the outside of the house. Basically, all the exhaust from the boiler was ending up in the boiler room instead of outside.  scared2:

We could have died. Then who would you have had to take the piss out of eh, eh?  point:

PS Wenchy, Mrs. Barman is very dissapointed in you for taking the piss!  point:

Does the Building Insurance cover 'accidents' involving crates of homebrew in the boiler room?  whistle:

But But But ~ modern gas boilers come with a balanced flu which does not emit anything other than vapour on a cold day and is totally free of noxious substances. They go straight through the wall. I know 'cos I just had one fitted.
My old boiler had a 45degree angle and chimney etc which is all redundant with the new boiler. The man who installed mine told me that he was surprised that it still worked as the "new system" has been in use for at least five years.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

Ah well ~ what can I do other than repeat the words spoken to me recently when I was having a bitch about something I could get in London but in North Wales they think I am mad for asking ~ "Well, you made the lifestyle choice didn't you?"
