Do you not feel that this is all a matter of:
(i) Where you grew up/went to school
(ii) What your parents used to say
(iii) Popular expressions used where you work/socialise
(iv) a sure sign of our mutual boredom.
I've always liked "Nutty as a fruit cake" but nobody seems to use that one anymore.
Mad as a hatter, ~ as a March hare. etc.
I really must protest. These damned recipes are beginning to pop up willy-nilly all over the place and as a wilfully confirmed 'stranger to a kitchen' I am getting fed up with them.
If I have to put up with computers in the computer section and motors in the petrol-head shop (even though I have a diesel
) then these wretched recipes should go into a cooking slot which I can avoid with gusto and two veg.
