Women ! Can men ever be right ?

I live in Italy as much as possible, and chatting with my local bar owner today I found out that his daughter will be in London for the next three months improving her English. I asked for her phone number so I could meet up and see if she is OK when I am in the UK.

Within 90 minutes the Latin Lovely is accusing me of having an affair, and even organising a "love nest" for the two of us. My ears are still ringing !
This was totally innocent. Marcella is a lovely girl, and with everyone around here still dealing with that dreadful murder just down the road in Perugia, I thought it was a chance to return the hospitality and support I get out here, and keep an eye on a young woman in a big, strange city.
You try to be nice and look what happens !

P'haps your Italian isn't as good as you think and she got the wrong idea of what you were saying
OR
She don'ta want anyone reporting backa to Papa and decided to frighten you off by yelling RAPE! ~ which is a ruse as old as time.

Either way keep well away and find another bar to drink in.

Oh and to answer your question ~ No! Men can NEVER be right as far as wimmin are concerned.

Sorry, Snoopy, I need to clarify. The Latin Lovely is my partner. I haven't contacted Marcella yet.
It's a small town, and the conversation with Dad was misinterpreted.
They're all at it like knives- not much else to do in the Winter !

You have to be ultra careful in small towns.  the gossip often gets home before you do and you find yourself fighting a rearguard action right from the go.

You probably would have had the same reaction had you have been overheard saying that she was disgusting and you wouldn't go near her.  The only time you you ever get believed is when you are lying  - or they think you are.

It's not that men can ever be right but that no one ever believes that men can behave from a purely innocent motive.

You should have suggested it to your Latin Lovely first and then got her to approach the father.

All sorted out. Latin Lovely received distorted report of my conversation thanks to gossip from a somewhat biased local. (Who is currently doing it with her plumber)
And Snoopy, I will be in touch- white or black, what kind of weight ?
