Just a few hours after Gordon Brown attempted to move on from his recent setbacks and yet again draw a line under the Blair years, he was engulfed by a new party funding row that threatened to re-open all the old wounds. The resignation of Labour's general secretary, Peter Watt, over the "hidden donations" from a wealthy businessman will revive memories of the darkest days of Tony Blair's final months in power which were marked by the cash-for-honours affair.
